Annual ATS Moon Festival will take place in 3 days, Sept 29th to Oct 1st at Asia Times Square
The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is an annual celebration occurring on the 15th day of the eighth month according to the Lunar Calendar. On this particular day, the moon is at its brightest and fullest. This is why it is called the “Harvest Moon”. Historically, this grand festival was held to express gratitude and receive the moon’s blessing for a plentiful harvest for the upcoming year. Nowadays, it is now becoming the second most important holiday tradition in Asia for family reunions and is often compared to Thanksgiving for its spirit of gratitude and abundance of food.
Asia Times Square is proud and honored to present to the community the largest annual Mid-Autumn Festival in the entire North Texas area, which attracts thousands of patrons from throughout the Metroplex and surrounding states like Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. The 2017 Annual Asia Times Square Mid-Autumn Festival is hosted by Asia Times Square and presented by Hong Kong Market Place and VIETV, while partnered with a number of businesses, with pride in preserving traditions and promoting cultures. This event is free to the public with gifts for children age 15 and under. We welcome everyone to come and share your culture with the community and us! The festival will take place on September 29th, 30th and October 1st, 2017
The 2017 Annual Asia Times Square Mid-Autumn Festival is bringing a memorable festival for your children where they can enjoy and discover Asian Traditions with peers, and showcase their talents through 2017 ATS Moon Fest Children's Contests with a chance of winning prizes up to $200. - Wishing Well and Charity Fundraiser on every night: Let's come and pray for those affected by Hurricane Harvey! It will be a long journey for Houston and other Texas Coast cities to return to what they amazingly were but together we can help make it a speedy recovery.
- FREE Carnival Games: prizes and expenses sponsored by Hong Kong Market Place. Welcome everyone to come and enjoy. Any amount donated are deeply appreciated and will be given to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey!
- Friday, Sept 29th, from 6:00pm: Let's come and celebrate Moon Festival with Mayor Ron Jenson and many other dignitaries with fun festivities such as the lighting of the Big Lantern, participating Lantern Decoration Contest judged by Digntaries, taking photos with Mayor Ron Jensen, and singing a song "We are the World" together.
- Saturday, Sept 30th: Lantern Parades with free gifts for children under 15 ages ( while supply last) from 8:00pm.
- Sunday, Oct 1st: Check out our Shining Stars through Talent Contest from 4:00pm
